break of a lifetime..

I know it was foolish and no I'm not bragging. I got busted doing 106 in a 40 late last night. I got off with a warning, can't believe it. I was just about to text my plant manager. I thought I was going to jail for sure. So for what it's worth there are some nice cops out there. Definitley learned my lesson for sure. I have no record and I'm way to pretty to go to jail

A HPD cop used to ride with us so we felt immune from tickets, except he warned us, "If we get pulled over by DPS we're getting tickets. Those guys aren't human."

DPS has let me off with warnings before, but I wasn't doing triple digits either.

Where is the FTP crowd?

Thanks, always nice to get a positive story for a change. I know that my behavior is MUCH more likely to change when a popo acts human & compassionate instead of a cash register; the latter just helps engender an 'us vs them' vibe.

On a far less dramatic scale, bluepine & I rolled up on a Colorado state trooper who had state hwy 24 blocked off due to a flash flood warning. I told him we just wanted to go another 500 yards down the road to the next exit, and could we continue on? He paused for all of 1-2 seconds, and then said, 'sure!' Seems like a simple thing, but it meant a of a lot to me that he wasn't a robot stormtrooper about it.
