VROD upgrade?

I think a found my next bike and a good upgrade from the VROD.

Triumph Rocket III Roadster (2300cc) 146bhp!! Not bad for a cruiser!

and the price is not bad either: $15,000 compared to HD and Victory models

I think you might be disappointed in the lack of handling. It's got power, but that bike is huge. A VMax has the power and handles better. I don't have a dog in the hunt, btw. I just personally witnessed a VMax hold it's own at Deal's Gap with a few SS bikes and my VStrom. A Rocket would have been left many miles behind.

Ha, have you seen the guy with the R3 and single wheel trailer that rides Deal's Gap? That guy wasn't afraid to throw that bike around. Don't know if he lives in the area (and it's been a little over a year), but when I was there I was told he's up there all the time.

But yeah, if the question was for power cruiser purely for performance, VMax all the way. If you want something for cruising, R3 looks comfy as .

I haven't riden either, but I still like the looks of the Vrod. Don't get me wrong, the R3 looks like a bad , but I would prefer the Vrod. I don't know how they compare, but would power be the only +? I wouldn't consider that an upgrade.....
