yeah, and claim you are his Cousin Eddie? ^^^^

Having an RV, unless you use it every month of every year is just a convenience. Let's say your note on it was only $200/mo.(most likely way low) - you can stay in a lot of nice hotels and eat some good meals for $2400/year.

Ok the one I'm looking at has a generator and a 100 gallon freshwater tank. 50 gallons each for the black / gray water tanks. So if i have my own power and water will I still need hookups?

This is assuming a fill the freshwater tank with 100 gallons of water before a trip, this doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do.:eh:

A nice 7 x 14 enclosed trailer isn't looking so bad now.....

Here is what I am thinking about doing.
(very close to pulling the trigger)

1. Buy a cargo van like this, with a tow package and dual zone AC. No seats in the back-
enlarge 11

enlarge 16

2. Panel and insulate it. Tint the side windows as dark as possible and put some nice wheels/tires on it.

3. Get a small generator to run a small fridge.

4. Get a propane stove and build a "chuck box" for dry goods and pots/pans/etc.

5. Carpet the rear floor and throw a couple sleeping bags and a bean-bag chair back there.

6. Get a nice trailer that can haul four bikes.

The end result would be a flexible and versatile vehicle that I could sleep in, run around town when not used to travel, save some gas over a full RV, haul those little things that I currently use my F-150 for, and save on those motel bills.

What do you guys think about this option?

I would say thats good especially if you don't have a vehicle already that can do that. WIth an F150 you would surely have to go the enclosed trailer route or find a travel trailer light enough to be pulled by a 1/2 ton, lots of them out there. With my 2500 cummins, isn't much i cant pull so thats why I'm looking at the travel trailers instead of buying a van.
