Yes, Stabil works. And they have a Marine formula. You can find it at any Academy.

I use the cherry flavor in all my gas cans. If I don't the weed eater carb gets gummed up.

I've heard that the Honda and Yamaha fuel stabilizers are the best. I have no evidence to back that up, but it makes sense to me. Honda has a plethora of small engines that sit for awhile (generators, lawnmowers, boat engines, etc.) It stands to reason that they'd make a product to protect low-use engines extremely well.

I run 87 every time. put 5k on it in 6 months. no problems at all. The bike still runs great. I don't have anything to measure it compared to 93. but the couple time I didn't put it just the same.

Byrdman,
agree Ethocrap is pure fuel.

In NC, we had both, my mgp would suffer when I used ethocrap.
When I was touring the USA, I would fill with pure gas every chance I got.

MPG difference was up to 20%.

example:
My Caponord would avg. 40-42 on ethocrap, pure gas....50-52.
Thats a massive difference.

Yeah, carb'ed engine don't take kindly to ethanol, especially the small engines with simple carbs, like in lawn mowers and weedeaters.

Most FI engines do just fine on 10% ethanol. I never had any problem with any of my cars or bikes. In fact, I just started up the track bunny that had gas that has been sitting in the tank for at least 8 months. Straight pump gas with enthanol, and no stabil either. Fired right up!

Good. More cheap and effective fuel for me.

It's only "cheap" because of corn subsidies. If it weren't for the reallocation of tax dollars, pump gas prices would be higher than they are now.

I understand cheap is relative with the consumption vs combustion efficiency difference.
I was more pointing out the ignorant " fuel" comment.

$14/gal of C-16 vs $2.9/gal of E85 is my relativity.
That may not be everyone's case, but I don't bash 93oct because of it either.
