HAHA. Jumping curbs would have to trigger something.

never heard of this snapshot thing....interesting....gotta say I don't think I like the sound of it from these posts....

how long they monitor for? is distance travelled factored? would never put one on the bike, that's for sure.

I use onstar with my GM vehicles and State Farm. Got a pretty decent discount. That one only monitors miles driven (to the best of my knowledge). We both ride our motorcycles to work, so the trucks don't do too many miles during the week.

Depends on how they collect data...if I had to guess...they would drop me like I was on fire and black list me form any future insurnace.

This. From the reviews I've seen they are VERY picky about what is emergency stopping. From what I remember, it's something like "number of seconds per 10mph"... so if stopping from freeway speeds you can actually accumulate multiple "emergency stops".

I too thought about putting it on my truck... since the bikes are the dailys. I wouldn't get a discount if i drove "normally". Though, I THINK you can put it on for a few months, then remove it. i had cheaper insurance based on mileage.... need to look into that again.

Yes, it plugs into the OBD computer hookup.

Not on my bike, I would have to install some sort of jammer or on off switch to turn it off when I wanted to have fun.

What's going to prevent insurance companies from requiring these on our vehicles and bikes to maintain coverage? I see this possibly becoming a problem in the near future.

We were asked if we wanted to partake in it with our cars, but between an s2000 and an M3, I doubt they would lower our insurance.

I don't know how those devices work, but with my ridiculous brakes, I could see them saying every stop in the s2000 was an "emergency stop."

Now I might have to research it... I'm genuinely interested in what data it uses to determine whatever it determines.
