This is all for the new law that went into effect this month, as well as defining the fine for no front license plates on cars/trucks. Harris County have been doing this for years on 1960. You see a cop with someone pulled over in the right hand lane and don't give them a clear lane between you and them and there is another cop 1 mile down the road waiting for you. The first car is a fake stop and they are just waiting for law breakers.

I have to totally agree with giving them space, although this new law applies to cops, tow trucks, repair crews, pretty much anyone on the shoulder.

I once was standing at the intersection of 1960 and vets. at 3 AM. A mom and her son were rear ended by a 60 year old drunk guy in a beater pick up truck. The guy is fall down drunk and has a knot on his head the size of a golf ball but keeps claiming he had that. Nothing major, bumper damage. The cop has them in the parking lot but the cars are still in the right hand lane. He has the truck door open and is leaning in searching the car when another car comes down 1960 and takes the door out. Missed the cop by inches. Glass Explodes, door is folded in half. He stands up, sees the door, then he explodes, you could see the rage, bolts to his car and hauls after the kid. Movie . I run across the street, after looking both ways of course, lol, and hang out with the mom and drunkard till the cop gets back. Old dude is still saying he's ok and wants to drive away. Cop gets back, big ole superhero grin on his face. "You get um"? I asked. " yeah I did!" he says.

And yes, I do respect the police that deserve respect. Just like I respect anyone who deserves respect. Just because someone has a particular job does not mean they deserve respect. I once had a neighbor who was HFD. HFD is a highly respected job. I had no respect for him however since on more than one occasion he would beat the out of his wife and kids.

And no, not mad.
Ditto, friend's dad was HFD and she would come to school completely beat to and nobody at the school ever did anything, cause he was HFD. People forget that it's either jail or the military for many who joined. There are human's involved, their job title has nothing to do with their morals.

Most. But not always true. I've met a few really good ones. Nice guys, didnt me over, gave me a deal, and even gave me the inside scoop.

I give everyone a pass until they act like an idiot or post idiotic statements. Look at my OP, it's a warning to idiots

Have you ever seen a stop sign or traffic light on the freeway. NO
They are called FREEWAY's for a particular reason. Your not supposed to stop on them. If someone got on it then they had to make there way across those same 4 lanes and an exit to get off anyway. If I were a cop I wouldn't ever pull anyone over on a freeway. I'd always tell them to exit first. For the safety of everyone involved.

What I'd really like to see enforced is the left lane for passing only laws.

I know it's impossible to enforce in Houston to the point of giving tickets, but they could still use the PA system to tell slow drivers to get out of the fast lane. Instead I've watched cops tailgate drivers in the left lane then move right to get around when the driver refused to move over. That's bullshit.

have you ever worked in traffic, or in lane closures? I'll take another law requiring drivers who are texting shaving and putting on make up to slow down or move over. Nothing better than a dumb cruising right into a closure or hitting a vehicle with strobes flashing while you are working in it

I see people stopped on the left shoulder all the time with no cops around. I wouldn't want to be responsible for directing some idiot from the left lane of 610 all the way off the freeway. Like I said, Houston drivers are retards

I love the Smart cars, taco trucks, and landscaping vehicles that use the left lane.

I call it LLCD (Left Lane Compulsive Disorder). People have an overwhelming urge to go STRAIGHT to the left lane, no matter how slow they are going, or who is in te way. It's insane. I didnt see this much before I moved to Houston.

This is true... many times I've had slow vehicles come across 3 or 4 empty lanes to get to the left lane THAT I'M ALREADY IN. Not just on the bike... in cars too.

And don't tell me I should've been in another lane, cause I'm traveling above PSL and will be the first to move right when a car appears behind me.
