If u cant afford to drive to austin (esp for a good deal) ur going to have some trouble with the bike scene. Itll cost what...a tank of gas to get there n u cant even afford that? O lordy.
Everything motorcycle is expensive, not regular price, Expensive.

There are a couple more... To be honest, I didn't mean to post the austin ones. And there could be tons of reasons he can't go to austin. I just had a baby, and i work erry day, and my wife works until 5 / 6. I wanted new, so i had to find a dealer to make arrangements with. if your going private seller, might be a bit easier. It may not be about a tank of gas, but could be something else. But either way, everyone is right, for a good deal traveling is worth it, imo.

I've flown to chicago and drove a car back to DC. And since i've moved to houston, i've flown to clearwater florida to drive back another ebay special. Both were sports cars, but I don't know about riding that far on a sport bike!

Not without a motor swap. That's a 97 FZR600. 99hp when bone stock.

Def. can find plenty of bikes in that price range without going back to late 90's. If you don't mind some minor cosmetic damage a much newer 600 can be had.

But as others have said, if you couldn't afford to go to Austin.....title change & registration for my 02 VFR was $~120, Insurance was ~$350/year, add in at least $100 for a decent helmet (unless you are one of those guys....) It adds up quick for sure, just be prepared to spend a lot more to be legal with it.

Oh, and tires. Set of cheaper tires is $180-200 easy.

Don't listen to the naysayers. I had a motorcycle when I was broke as eating ramen noodles and I turned out alright. The motorcycle will bring you more joy when your broke than money will when you are bikeless. Go for it! Then after you got the bike situated, start taking all that money you save on gas and put it away for a rainy day. You have to be dumb with money before you can be smart with. I bet all the people saying don't do it were stupid with money at some point in there life. Oh and get an SV. Cheap to own, cheap to fix, and cheap to drop.

Most people will meet you halfway if you are serious about buying it. Go check a couple in town bikes out so you know what you like and then you'll know if it is worth the drive.

I can pay for the gas I just don't have time. And I don't want to drive all the way to Austin. No need to be disrespectful.
