Yeah, in Mexico. This actually happens 2-3 times a year with rigs of concert transports. Somehow they always know which truck has the 5mil in PA and not the 30K in truss. Probably cause one of the hands working the show was in..

Insurance.

They will probably turn a profit from the whole deal.

Anything involving theft of an 18 wheeler is considered a federal crime.
Are you talking about merely stealing an 18 wheeler, or cargo theft across state lines? Ive worked a couple of 18 wheeler thefts and have never filed federally...

If true for local, intrastate theft, Id like to let the Feds do it....one for one is better than the states almost 3 to 1.....

Now that is funny. Maybe if he did not pay his insurance premium before the heist...but nahh. No sympathy for the rich devil.

I wish I could be rich and have someone steal my bikes!

Yes, unless the owner has a Huey, an MP5, and lockjack softwired into the trailer. Then you better have health insurance.

Yes, true they are victims.; however, I would rather be a wealthy victim than a po victim. Much easier to pay my insurance premium and replace my stuff that way.

+1 most rigs ignition cylinders are very simple. Driving one is harder than stealing one. lol. I can pick the door open and have the truck running in seconds with no damage.

Come on, gps jammers? Now you're talking about some fast and furious stuff man. This kind of crime is organized, not high tech. They could make much more $$ taking a ferrari or a bentley if they had a gps jammer and a tow truck.
The guy driving that rig (if the rig is registered in more than 1 state makes it a federal crime - mine is registered in 48) could face 15+ years on that kind of tefht. And eat steaks weekly at the fed prison. I get pulled over all the time, and california really has a sour for trucks. even the whole state has us on a 55 spd limit.

Gotta love Cali.

HE probably has some insane insurance that covers every asset that the company owns. He will get paid.

I dont know this guy, and dont want t imply any wrongdoing, but in large theft cases, a good percentage of the time it is insurance fraud.
