You can buy a frame from the dealer for about $500.

I know for sure the 03-04 are compatable. I believe the 05-06 revision makes the mounts a bit off for the older motor. I think............I know 04 to 05 body work is majorly different.

Ron Ayers lists the 03-04 frame together and the 05 frame seperately.

Used frames I would venture to guess are most likely stolen. I bet most of the used frames on ebay are hot, so if you go used make sure it has a VIN that is original (i.e.not stamped in after the original has been scratched off) and run that VIN, also don't buy used powdercoated frames where you can't read the VIN but the seller promises you its legal.

03-06 motors are a direct swap, the 05-06 have smaller exhaust ports to make more midrange power.

The frames are different, but not where the motor is concerned and how it bolts up. If you get an 05-06 you will need to get 05-06 forks. The subframes are different but they all bolt onto the frame, ie. 03-04 can mount on a 05-06 and vice versus. The parts of the subframe that different are the exhaust mounts and the rear seat latch and key latch. Most of the parts can be made to work, but make take some custom brackets and such. 03-04 and 05-06 slip ons are not a direct swap but can be made to work with some slip-ons. It would be best to get an exhaust that matches the subframe.

WILL SWAP:
Wheels (front & rear)
Rotors (front & rear)
Sprocket Carrier & Cush drive
Gearing
Gas tank
Fuel pump
Clutch cover
Alternator cover
Rearsets (both sides)
Rear brake lever
Shift lever
Shock
Fairing stay
Tank cowl
Front master cylinder & lever
Clutch lever
Throttle assy

WILL NOT SWAP
Forks
Front brake calipers
Triples (top & bottom)
Front fender
Ignition* (could be made to work, but the 03/04 has one extra line for security. the 05 doesn't have this)
Axles
Battery tray / rear heat shield

If it were me I would just get the year frame for your bike, ie. 03-04. Getting another set of forks will set you back, but then you could sell yours. The body can be made to work, but may take some custom work.
