Election results from the CMRA message board.

Start paste...

First of all, on behalf of the CMRA membership, I'd like to thank everyone who stepped up to run for the Board of Directors. It is a (mostly thankless) volunteer position that requires a lot of personal time and sacrifice by those who take on the job. Congratulations to Steve and Ted and many thanks again to those who ran.

The ballots have been counted and recounted and the results are in:

1. Michael DeSimone - 67
2. Peyton Inge - 68
3. Steven McNamara - 130
4. Ted Phillips - 136
5. Garet Tomlinson - 54

670 CMRA members were eligible to vote and 260 ballots were received. Of those 260, only 250 were counted. Of the 10 which were not counted, four were postmarked after the October 31st deadline, three had no printed name or signature, two had more than two boxes checked and one had a printed name, but no signature. Thanks again to all who took a few minutes to vote for the folks who will be helping to direct the CMRA into the future.

Steve is returning after a brief hiatus and Ted has been re-elected to serve another three year term. They will be joining our current Board members: Danny Dominguez, Jim Dugger, Eric Falt, Ty Howard and John Orchard. Harry Tomlinson will be leaving the Board at the end of 2013 and we would like to sincerely thank him for his many years of commitment and contributions to the betterment of the CMRA. He has been and will continue to be a valuable asset to the club in many areas and especially in his multiple terms of service on the Board of Directors. Norm McDonald has graciously agreed to continue on as the CMRA Treasurer in 2014.

The newly elected members will join the current members at the next Board of Directors meeting held earlier in the day prior to the Awards Party on November 16, 2103. All CMRA members are invited to attend the Open Membership Meeting from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Waco Convention Center. The Board of Directors will be there to answer any questions the membership may have.

Not bad for a guy who dared to question the pink elephant in the room.

Nevertheless, great group of guys on the board! Hopefully they will pick up where they left off for 2013 by trying new things, taking risks and entertaining ideas.
