Whatever happened hope the rider and the occupants of the car pull through. I must admit it was a good read on a Sunday morning. Well maybe not.
Suggestion anytime a rider goes down and someone makes a post include a poll.
1-My condolences
2-Heres to a speedy recovery
3-Rider got what he deserved.
and stop the back and forth stuff.

Now I couldn't be arsed about the driver either. Build a bridge and get over it. Life sucks and then you die.

Or as forest gump said, "Stupid is as stupid does"

Not knowing the entire story leaves a bit open, BUT if he was hauling and ran a red light, he asked to be a hood ornament; and got what he asked for.

Just because he was on a bike doesn't get him any free pass or special sympathy.

"Young and dumb" doesn't get any passes either; hows about taking responsibility for your decisions.

Lets say he ran a red light and t-boned YOUR car and family, you gonna jump to his defense now?

I'm all for hauling down a back country road. Odds are real good if I do something stupid I take myself out.. and thats my choice. Playing like an idiot in traffic is just plain dumb.
Slow clap........agreed.....

Had this dude ran the light and killed a child by hitting a car dudes would have pitch forks in hand ready to do a burn out on his grave. IF he was riding like a sadly he got what was coming to him.....

Excellently put.

I guess I'll stir the pot and say I agree with and texlurch.

If he had t boned a Corolla with 2 kids in the back nobody would be sticking up for him at all. The point is that when we ride, every second on that bike- out lives are in our hands. You can have all the petty arguments you like- but if you are on a bike and increase your chance of injury/accident/death via foolish riding- you are asking for tragedy, and get no sympathy from me.

Too many good riders have been killed being honest, safe riders for me to give a 2 when some jackass is turned to calamari.

What if this guy had just been fired from his job; had a death in the family; lost his gf; or suffered a terrible financial setback?

He may have been absent minded and not even seen the light was red. We all need to keep our minds on our riding, and this is a constant challenge.

BUT SO MANY IN THIS FORUM - JUST ASSUME HE WAS RIDING STUPID. And if he was, then there are better ways to learn a lesson, rather than what happened. How about we all try to help each other to ride safer - rather than all the criticism and ugliness?

are you serious ? well, what if talked to him and told him to do it. Or what if his heart stopped beating, what if he just got molested by a teacher, what if he was just trying to go fast. What if he just ate a piece of pizza, and had heart burn and tried to sneeze but then accidently pulled the throttle to much.....

c'mon. There are no excuses for running a read light fast enough to do what he did. Either way it doesn't matter. It's a tragic moment in someone's life. Granted your right about some of the Dbags on hur, but... that's quite a lot of what if's you people have.

Constant accidents and situations like this have really slowed me down and made me think.I worry about the ppl I leave behind, the Margaritas with my friends, and beer with the Texans on game day. I'm not sure if I will ever go to the track, but regardless I am saving it for the track. be safe out there guys

First ... hope the rider is ok. No one "deserves" to die for any action whether it be accidental or intentional. I am a believer in you pay for the consequences of your actions but life is a gift. If you take chances with your life it can end in a rush or end in death. I think the poor choice of wording is why we have 7 pages of nothing related to the accident.

If the rider ran the light ... he paid the price for it .. hopefully not with his life. I hope no one was injured for his lack of patience and disregard for others around. But to say he "deserves" to die for a lapse of judgement is a little to harsh for my morals. If he pulls through I hope this mistake is used as a learning experience. Mistakes and accidents are preventable but also learning tools if you take the right attitude away from it.
