Hayabusa question

Will a stage 1 turbo be enough to get over the 200mph mark? What can I realistically expect out of it?

Working on my first turbo bike & would love to hit one of the land speed events.

I don't know a lot about turbos, but I think if you take the governor off you can get to 200

Is the govenor located somewhere near the power band? Can ya show me on a parts fiche?

lol

I've built lots of busa's for others with cams, shifters, & nitrous... lots of go fast goodies for the drag strip, but I've never shot for top speed.

I can see how removing the govenor can make you go faster though........what does Rick perry weigh in at anyway? I hear every 6 pounds you remove is like adding a horsepower.

Gen I or Gen II?
A gen II bike with the right bolt ons can hit 200. A gen I bike is going to need 190+ hp, I would think. In stock form a gen I bike would theoretically top out at 194 but was restricted to 186 (300 KPH).
Don't know how much HP a "stage one" turbo would add but for the thousands of $$ that it would cost I would think it would put a busa easily over 200 HP and over 200 MPH, for sure.

Heres a CBR600 with a turbo and tune, went 206MPH, why couldn't a busa go more?

I don't see any hayabusa breaking 200 without a lot of extra power and other mods. But a turbo would give u enough extra power lol

Actually, the 1st gen Busa was unrestricted. It was because of the 1999-2000 Busa/ZX12's & others that the restriction was put in place.

The 1999 Busa was still the fastest production bike built until just a couple of years ago, now it's an MV but I forget which model.

Gen 1 goes all the way through 07'. 08 was the start of gen 2. To answer your question, yes a stage one will get you there. You will need to run a taller counter shaft sprocket or small than stock rear. You will be topped out early on and need the gear. The hp of a stage one should have you around 250 hp if its a gen 2. You also better go see Johnny cheese to get a good tune. That is a long time to have it stretched out. Lots of nasty can happen if your tune isn't spot on.
