Barber 9/28

All,

Will be trying for the Barber trackday Sept 28. Already signed up, just arranging some family stuff to try and free up time.

I have a car and trailer. The car is not comfortable and the trailer is less than awesome but generally works. But, I can make it if need be.

However - if anybody is up for sharing a ride out there, it would be smart to have multiple drivers for the haul out from Houston and then back.

I am tentatively thinking to get a hotel for Friday and Saturday nights, drive out Friday, sleep it off saturday night, hit the museum briefly with some other friends that'll be there, and then head back. Could also split a hotel room if anybody needs.

Give me a shout.

Totally agree - but a 2nd in class Pikes Peak finisher tells me it's worth it, and I'm inclined to take him at his word. The museum is also supposed to be awesome fwiw.

Two day, yes. One day? No. You will be left like a heroin addict.

...the only way that's different from any other track day (1 or 2 day) is that given the distance, I can't fantasize about getting a membership and swinging by there after work every day.

I was just there on the 10th-11th. The museum almost has to many bikes to appreciate them all. I also went to COTA in June and have to say that Barber is more fun. The most important corner to learn on your first laps is the exit of T3 into T4. It is blind but you will be able to see the tower. You run out to the curbing on exit of three, then point the bike to apex of four and then aim for the tower and you will stay on the track. My first session was only three laps because someone crashed in turn three on the first lap. Second session I had someone pull me around for two laps and then I ran off after T4 third or forth lap. Have fun, it is a bad track for sure and one day will not be enough.

I will be there along with Team Jock. One day is enough if you give it 100%.
