Future Rider, native Houstonian

Hello all. I've had the bike bug for a few years now and I figure it's time to finally pull the trigger. I'll be taking the MSF course in the next couple of months (not sure which days just yet). I've ridden dirt bikes and mopeds, but have yet to step up into the big leagues. I've convinced myself to buy the 2013 Honda CBR600RR. Everyone talks highly of this site and I hope to get to know a lot of you in the future. I haven't had a chance to browse the subforums yet but I'm sure there are a lot of helpful tips and tricks for the new riders out there. Thanks and take it easy everyone.

thanks, and you're not the first to tell me that lol... but since you seem to be a seasoned rider, can you give me some reasons why it shouldn't be my first?

A 600 is good! You just can't be too twitchy with the throttle, be smooth when you twist it! But despite what some say, it is forgiving, NOT a 1000cc bike tho! Lol! And...WELCOME!

Yup, just as many people tell me that a 600 is a good first bike as the people who tell me a 600 is not a good first bike... a few people tell me "the bike is only as fast as you twist the throttle..."
