I have split so many cars and had so many people try n take me out n yell n scream. them. I'm due for someone to say it n open a door. I'm riding extra carefully and need to put switch on head light like my previous bikes.

Im waiting for my first opportunity to split lanes in traffic. It almost seems like something you gotta do if you have a bike .. why sit if you dont have to. I have already pulled the move to the front of the line at a red light and not to friendly faces. I was laughing the whole time but its one of those if you can why not. I will still stick to my its not cool to go blazing through stopped traffic at 60 but a safe split at 15-20 mph seems like the only logical thing to do.

I had a car (in stopped traffic while I was splitting at no more than walking speed - less than 5 mph) pull hard to the left and hit my leg and bike one time - pinned me against his quarter panel.

Give 'em an enthusiastic thumbs-up, like you're having the time of your life. It baffles/confuses the out of them. I'm going to get one to stroke out one of these days. It's my mission. I want to see some fucktard blow spittle out of the sides of his mouth and eat his steering wheel.

Wanna see somebody go apeshit? Whip out your phone and act like you're taking a picture of their plate. I did that to a d-bag with a company logo on the side of his truck and his rage turned to PANIC. I was amused.

I've only had one person recently who really express their displeasure at my lane splitting. He honked at me and I smiled and waved. He was . I split nearly everywhere. Usually they don't care at least from my experience. As long as you get off quick like you weren't even there.

I can see this guy in an SUV's face in his rear view and tell that he's cussing me while I'm coming toward him. First he starts to try to block, swerves over then swerves back into his lane. Then as I come through he rolls his window down and literally SCREAMS at me " You're stupid!" Naturally I paused for a second beside him to give him the ol one finger how do you do. When I passed him he laid on his horn and I just waved.

Why the does this people off so much? It's gotta be jealousy because they are stuck in traffic in a car. I mean I was doing about 15 mph. This guy was in no danger , his car wasn't in any more danger than it was already ( I'm insured better than half the that will hit you) The fastest I will split is around 30 mph ever, and only in packed traffic.

What the is the deal?
They all just jelly

This one time, I split lanes and the cager in a truck was so off that he stayed in his truck for another 30min whilst I chilled at home with an ice cold brew

I am not a big fan of lane splitting, but i think the reaction from those folks is not so much jealousy... and not so much that they think you are breaking the law (which you are)...I think it is more the fact that they do not understand lane splitting (they are cagers, not riders) and they get offended that you think you are special and more important than everyone else and that you should not have to wait your turn like the other poor peons on the road. So in their uneducated, unknowing bit of understanding, they view you as an arrogant who thinks he is better than everyone else... and no one likes that person.

I was sitting in a construction zone on 518 one day. I was on the SV. 2 people were so concerned with who would merge in front of who, that one ran straight into me. The paid NO attention. People in traffc suck!

Do you have loud pipes/exaust?

Just curious, because only a few people seem to get at me when I lane split...but it could be for a few reasons.

The Versys with stock exaust (what looks like a car muffler) is really quiet. I don't think half the people see me coming.

I also have a Gopro on my helmet, and have noticed people seem to change their behavior when they know they are being recorded...but doubt people generally notice this in thier mirror...

Anyway, insted of being , they should get themselves a motorcycle and do it too.
