New helmet?

Have had an arai rx7 for a few years now and think its time for a new one. Whats a new helmet that would be an upgrade from what I have now? Looking for something lighter-better air circulation-better protection. Anybody here tried several helmets/brands and found one they would consider superior to the rest and would recommend?

I went with a Shoei rf 1100, and love it. Most sponsors will give you a good discount for being a MH member.

+1... I am on my 3rd one in 3 months...I had a string of bad luck... I can safely say they offer great protection as I went through a nasty tank slapper at 95+ near a wall with no concussion...

HJC RPHA-10. Best bang for your buck. I sold my Arai Corsair V and my Arai Profile and got the HJC.

If you don't mind spending the money, this helmet would be an upgrade to all of them. IMO.

Go to a sponsor that has a huge selection (like 2 Wheel Toyz) and try everything on. If you find something you really want walk around with it for 10 minutes or so to see if there are any pressure points. Manufacturers make different sizes and shapes so its best to do it in person. Any of the upper price point helmets are going to offer most of the extras you want in a helmet.

Get what fits you.

My arai isn't the corsair v, it's the older rx7(tommy gun). It fits my head well iv just had it since 07. Iv heard the new corsair v does not vent well and that kinda turned me away from it..

Great helmet but from what I have read it doesnt fit north american heads that well. We have a different head shape, not just bigger...lol

Another vote for Shoei GT-Air. The flip down sunshade makes it unnecessary to swap out shields. Extremely convenient, flows air just as well as the RF series, and weighs the same as an RF.

Fits extremely similar to the RF as well. Try it out!

I have always worn arai had rx7 quantum etc over the years but two years ago I went and got a shoei x-12 and I can tell u the shoei vents twice as good and its about twice as light too. Only complaint is the wind/road noise is slightly higher.
