SAFE AND SILENT

Thanks for opp to sound off. If I am ineligble due to not owning or riding a motor cycle, I accept that and if I am kicked off I accept that also.

I was awaked this morning by a loud motorcycle lasting about twenty seconds.
So I had nothing better to do than write you guys. I place my prayers with your safety before any concerns I have with noise pollution. I see how vulnerable a rider is, on two wheels with no enclosure. I know the joy you feel compensates for those concerns. Riders are truly courageous to seek the thrill of power, speed and wind which they control. Yes, I feel that even though I have never participated. In my next life I may do it.

I know that some of you also enjoy the thrill of the sound in addition to the power, speed and wind. If I were twenty five and so inclined, I would do the same. When I am a pedestrian and this occurs, I put my fingers into my ears. I am noise sensitive. Nothing left to say. My life is good. You riders get better and better every day.

Somehow I am guessing it was not a Houston motorcyclist that went past your home so early. That being said you expressed your concerns in a respectful way and I appreciate that.

I also actually get a little peeved myself when a loud car or motorcycle screams down my street in the middle of the night and I actually ride. I try to be respectful when I am in residential areas.

I get a little annoyed by extremely loud bikes...some ppl think that if their bike is loud, they wont be hit as easily...not a firm believer in that myself but oh well....20 sec seems rather short but when the noiseis annoying or painful, it seems muvh longer..

I can appreciate that, I actually leave for work at 4am and generally idle out of the neighborhood. I know my neighbors and have asked them if I wake them up when I ride the bike to work. They say they hear it fire up, but then they go back to sleep and have no complaints about it. I do know that some potato bikes are MUCH louder, and less harmonious than mine, none the less I try to be respectful to every neighborhood I pass through or by. Then again, I don't ride the street like it is a track.

Yeah! at my old place, we lived on a hill. Sometimes when i left early in the morning, i would rill down the hill and hen start up the busa once i was away from the houses. The neighbors would tell me i didn't need to do it, but, i felt it was the right thing to do.

So do you have a bike or not? Post one says no, post 8 makes it sound like you do. Most of us don't care for bikes that are loud for the sake of being loud either. Sorry you got "woked" up. that me off too.

i don't get mad when it's loud, i get mad when they're clutch revving or jamming out super loud through the street.

think of that episode that south park made fun of harley riders....those are types i hate, rather if it's a street bike, harley, bobber, moped, scooter, mustang, corvette, etc... i get you're proud of what you got, but don't rev the out of the engine just for attn, and i love those that start their bike with a crazy hard rev when they have a new or recently tuned bike that will start without a hard rev.
