Corner Table Restaurant. The individual should be held accountable, and possibly the valet company. However, I don't see how the restaurant should be held liable when they outsource the valet services.
That valet company (True Parking Solutions) does the services for River Oaks country club and the Westside Tennis club as well. It is owned by Chris Phillips and the managers name is Lucas Dakono. The office address is 701 N Post Oak Rd right off the west loop. Most of their drivers are very young kids. One of their drivers did $1000 in damage to one of my sports cars last month due to the combination of low ground clearance and poor judgement. I was offered only a fraction of the repair costs. I'm not surprised something like this happened with them

Since when has it been considered "the Montrose"? It's called "The Gayborhood".

Christ, this is terrible.

Reminds us that we're here one minute, gone the next. That driver should be facing vehicular manslaughter.

Does anyone know if the rider was wearing any gear?

This was my best friend of 25 years who was killed Thursday night.

He was traveling just over 30mph, which witnesses attested to, when the valet driver cut him off.

He was killed instantly and wearing his gear (obviously including his helmet).

For those who have been asking, yes, he was a Moto Houston member. His name was Andrew and he rode a CBR500. He and I showed up to the Post Oak Starbucks meet several times.

May his passing stand as a reminder to us all that we can never be too careful and that drivers all around us do not think twice about a motorcycle in their vicinity.

To all my fellow riders, please be safe, watch your surroundings and never forget to tell those who are close that you love them. Ride on, ride strong.

I am very sorry for the loss of your friend. Accidents can happen anywhere. Make yourself visible to cagers, and stay ahead of traffic. May bless him, and keep us safe.

Sorry, man. It was a thing that happened. My condoloences to you, the rest of his friends, and his family. I really hope something comes out of this. I know it was a mistake. The guy shouldnt get major jail time, but he should pay, nonetheless.

My condolences to you and Andrew's family. I met you and Andrew last month when he came out to eat dim sum with us at Fung's Kitchen. If I remember correctly, y'll had to head out a bit early because he was going to pick up his exhaust that day from Fed Ex.
