You mean the one two up sports bike in the group? I didn't see him pass anybody. He certainly wasn't hard on it if you listen to the throttle from the apex out. Looked like a pretty tame ride with a little bit of gas on the straights.

Sorry guys, just don't get what makes this bike/rider/video so special.

Btw..I haven't see the video posted yet.. Can't access YouTube videos at work...

But, I ride with him often, and he keeps a good pace... Again when I say good pace, its a relative term...

My take , think what you want . after seeing video I notice its hammer it in the straights , slow into the turns , and try for fast out from lead bike . There is little to no lean angle . Max could run off any time especially if it has a flashed ecu or PCV . Yamaha limits the max to either 137 or 147 cant remember.
My FJR1300 out runs my brothers 2009 Vmax on top end , but only due to his is not flashed or PCV . You have a guy on a max thats proably been riding 20 plus years ,and doesn't feel the need to hammer every straight .

When we ride in the Ozarks / smokey mountains its fast in the turns , and 5 to 10 over in the straights .

I have many miles on a 2009 max , and there is no head shake its like a rock , but a lot of wind buffet though . My good friends PCV ZX14 ( not current R model ) with flies removed is a rocket , but it is always a bike length or two behind my brothers max till 120 mph plus .

Lead rider could defiantly be smoother on maintenance throttle .
