Headed NW (not so) Bright and Early 3/31/07

Edited: Ok, well we had high hopes. LOL. We're still goin', though!

~Jenn

Hey Ya'll,

Just as soon as the storms have passed through, TXBritt and I will be takin' off to ride south (maybe along 35?). No major plan of action, other than to be gone all day (or what's left of it). Everyone is more than welcome to tag along, just keep in mind, I'm a noob, and the ride will reflect that! Full gear, no triple digits, let's just cruise (ok, how many of ya'll did THAT run off, LOL). Anyhoo, if anyone's interested, post and we'll come up with a meeting spot closer to ride time (it will be on the SE side of Houston) - watching the weather now, looks like the storms will hopefully move through pretty quickly!

~Jenn

ok, well not for you on the NW side of town BUT for those of us on the SE, the storms have just about peaked and will be on the way out here shortly, and there's nothin on the other side of 'em but cooler temps!

I just can't see riding in the rain as being very comfortable :confused1 although I guess with the breeze factor, you probably dry out fairly quickly...

bummer on having to work! we swap kids with a friend about once a month so we can have a free weekend - go figure it'd rain! LOL AND what really sucks, is I woke up at 4am and got up to see if we left then if we'd beat all the rain and figured we wouldn't - thought the storms were moving faster (like they are now). We'd have probably made it far enough south to miss most of it. Oh well - then we wouldn't have had time to invite everyone :icon_bigg

i love storms so riding in the rain was very relaxing for me, and the fact that i havent slept yet made for a fun ride.

I love the rain, too, that's why I stayed up instead of going back to sleep at 4am, but there's no way I'd intentionally ride in it (well, at least not right now, I don't have enough experience in good weather, nevermind storms!).

Change of Plans!!

Ok, after closer inspection of the radars, it looks like the storms have passed through much of the Houston area, BUT they're hooked around the south of us still, so I'm thinking maybe we'll head West, then South. Britt's still asleep, so I haven't confirmed any of this, but he said pretty much whatever I want to do, so....

Another Change of Plans!

We'll make up our minds one of these days! :laughing6

Thinking now that NorthWest maybe be the best direction to go, head out towards the hill country....

Oh, and also - doesn't look like it'll be as "bright" or "early" as we were hoping either. Argh! :BangHead: Stupid yellow spots keep poppin up on the radar. We'll get out of here sooner or later, though!

Looks like the rain pushing off to the east. We're about to head out towards the northwest ( not south, as the thread title would suggest ). If anyone would like to join up, let us know.
