low fuel light stays on

Hello, I've been told this can happen after a bike sits for a while.. gas gunk gets on the float and prevents it from working properly.

Is there any kind of additive I can use to try and clean up that gunk ?

Thanks in advance!

I would try Lucas fuel treatment. If the bike has been sitting for awhile drain it.

How much gas is in there now? I would try just filling it with about half a tank, then as hard as you can rock the bike back and forth to get the fuel to unjar the float.

And yes like Craig said drain the old gas...

Thanks, the old gas has been drained already but I'll go ahead and try the rocking back and forth at half tank.

Float? Low Fuel Sensor.. Wire can break or sensor rusts out. You can pull it and try cleaning it. Easy replace job but not a cheap sensor on your bike. 128$ what le googlie told me. Glad mine was 2$..

Find the sensor wiring harness, check the connection. Find the sensor, pull it out, simple wrench job, check it, clean it if possible, replace back in bike.

Most bikes use a thermistor sensor. When it goes out, the light typically fails in the on position. Wetted = no light, dry or burnt out = light
