what states do you need?

Texas is by far the second worse state for stealth camping, Wisconsin topping the list.

Best states are:
(no order)
Montana
Wyoming
Idaho
Washington
Oregon
Colorado
New Me hee Co
A lot of the southeast is great, northeast is crappy, but way better than Texas.

Dang doesn't look like you packed enough underoos.

I wanted to attempt something like this when I bought the z1000 I just might buy another so I can do this. Would be a awesome ride. Take plenty pics man and be safe. Watch out on I 10 at night those deer and rabbits are no good. I had plenty close calls while heading to el Paso for work.......

Speaking of campsites, when I rode Poudre river canyon 2 years ago there was a KOA in a place called Gould on the west side of the mountains. They had showers etc.
After that it gets pretty flat for a ways. But the first 50 miles was worth it.

Danurse- the sisters are ok but the problem is... They have been "discovered". I hear ya about the heat but if I'm going on a trip I'd like to have better when I get there.
No sayin don't go just sayin I been there and got me some while the gettin was good. Lol

I catch your drift regarding the sisters, yet it's still something I've yearned to ride.
Riding the dragons tail is another bucket list ride for me as well..
Just needing a trailer and a truck which I should be able to procure by the end of this year, good lord willin', and I am good as there!

Sorry for the thread jack...
Been to the Dragon's tail as well. It's cool to be able to say you've done it but there are better roads in the area.
I liked the Cherahala Skyway. It's about 20 miles away from the Dragon. The difference is, where the Dragon's Tail is extremely twisty and tight with cops, traffic, trees, cliffs, and guardrails right off the edge of the road, the Cherahala is open winding, with fast sweepers and beautiful scenery. Places to pull off and look around, very little traffic and it's fifty miles long.
Seriously just about ANY road in that part of Tennessee or N. Carolina are great. ALL of them are better than anything for 150 miles around Houston.
Or about 10 hours closer to Houston there is Northern Arkansas...

Go do these things before the squids mess them up too.

Arkansas sounds good, when do we leave!?
Might have to PM you from now on, or start a new thread on hypothetical bucket list rides..
