Looking at the damage to the front end of the bike, how fast must he have gone in a parking lot to snap the fork uppers?

I bought my bike before I took the training class and rode home without any issues. Probably because I didn't actually pick it up until after I took the took the class. The dealership was kind enough to keep it in the lot for a few extra days until I went and got it.

Whatcha bet that dear old Mom hates bikes, so the kid is trying to hide it from her, and (maybe) let her know about it after the fact. That's why he didn't take the class etc.

Then again, the vid said he was 22, and goodness knows I was dumber'n dog dung when I was that age and would have fearlessly done the exact same thing.

I've discussed the same thing at dealerships when I was shopping; in Texas the law's the same way except that NO dealer will let someone ride off without insurance and an M endorsement, for their liability purposes and (I think) state law. I'm sure that nearly every dealership will be glad to deliver a purchase for someone if its remotely reasonable.

PS kudos to the one guy: "... like I got on mine".

Have someone who's never ridden before rev your bike at idle... They will yank that . $10 says he hammered it in first (prob when getting out of N) and smashed a curb/wall at 40-50mph. The 1k will get there REAL quick

This is how it goes on our showroom floor a couple of times a month.

salesman: Hi, how can we help you today...

customer: Well, I am looking for my 1st bike. I was thinking about a 600, but my buddy says I will just get bored with it and I should just get a 1000....

I bought a brandnew bike when I was 18 and never rode before other than dirt bikes It was a 05 Fz6 don't regret the purchase at all! I was smart enough to have the bike delivered and practiced for a long while in parking lots and side streets before I ever met any real traffic situations! After seeing what happens to some of the students in the MSF classes its very apparent that some people should never be on motorcycles and that kid was one of them and his mom is retarded to blame the dealer! She needs to blame her son for being retarded!

There are some laws that have instant punishment when you break them. Because the punishment is severe AND instant, most of us don't break them.

For example, the law of gravity...

Apparently this family is unfamiliar with the law of inertia.
