My son was coming home on the Galveston freeway at 1:00 AM. Only about 2 cars on the raod. Speedlimit is 65. Got pulled over for 74. Now he has to take that online idiotic driver safety course. And if you've ever taken it you know how farging stoopit the questions are and they do nothing to educate drivers. It's purely a way for them to make a hundred bucks and punish the driver.

My preference would be to be able to legally go 80, 90, 95. Who can resist taking the NASA bypass exit or entrance ramp at 100? Either way, if there's no trafic - -C YA !! zooooom.

Seems like the majority would rather be stuck riding the 610 at 60 (the actual posted speed) at midnight vs 85 (which all you dirty rotton scoundrel bikers do in broad daylight anyway) and take lane spliting. Really? I'd rather legally go 95 on I10 west than get to pass 20 cars at a traffic light.

Just asking for opinions. I'm a little surprised. And of course, yes ya GOTTA use yer brains when you plan on going a little faster.
due to the outstanding reasoning you have displayed in this thread and even STARTING it... i would not approve of you doing more than the speed limit or reproducing

Lane splitting although works, it's just as dangerous as anything else on a bike, people get hit all the time, the problem is some people can move a bike through cars just fine, while others can not, some can hardly turn. If you let people split, then EVERYONE will start, and it's going to be just as bad as it is now. There is no alternative to simply taking an alternate route, or SLOWLY sharing the far left lane with a car. The idea behind lane splitting was initially used ( id assume ) to prevent air cooled engines from over heating. Sure, it's hott out but get over it, it's a downfall of the hobby, no?

Does it suck? Apparently a judge agrees with me.

The last thing we need for ANY vehicle is more speed.

I'm for lane splitting under 20mph.

So much hurt.

Lane Splitting. Even if I'm barely moving, I'm still moving.

The sad fact is a great number of riders have no business being on a bike. Last thing we need is higher speed limits.

LOL... ask a dumb question, get dumb replies... don't be hurt. you asked the question expecting a response to your desire to ride like an asshat and break laws because you feel you should be entitled to do so, hence my response.

Id assume so? If all people who lane split cheat on there wives, then the ones who cheat on there wives lane split... unless they don't have a bike, in which case they can't. So... I guess the answer actually, would be no, all people who cheat don't lane split, because they all can't. Did i get that right?
