Grand Prix of Houston 4/20 - 4/22

Anybody going this year? I really want to make it out for this years race. Any suggestions from those who have attended before?

no suggestions other than earplugs. went last year to the le mans race, it was pretty cool. nice cars. if you get there before the race, of course you can see the cars up close, get autographs, etc. We got there early enough to see practice runs for other races, missed a crash BUT we were at the pits when they were pushing the cars back in on the "stretcher." Extreme fans left with pieces of the cars and used tires.

For those people that have been.... What do you suggest as far as days to go, tickets / passes to get, seating, etc....?

Get seating in the grand stands near the starting grid as thats where all the action is and they broadcast the race on the big screen as well there. I think pit passes were only a few dollars more and well worth it. You can pretty much walk around to any part of the track side to get some other perspectives as well. I'd reccommend bringing a hat, money, and sunblock if your gonna spend the day out there.

I have been to the actual races in the past but last year I didn't want to pay all that money for the race itself. The race is hard to follow just seeing one turn or the straightaway. So I went on the practice days and it was cheaper. You can walk around and check everything out. I really enjoyed it. I went after work and got to see them practice at night. Besides that, I got to see all the different classes on one day including the go-karts. Get a pit pass to go inside the kart championship cars. Also note that the Atlantic series cars go to MSRHouston to race and practice. I want to see that more than anything.

Oh and plus 1million on the earplugs
