I was skeptical at first, but I bought one for my grandfather in the hospital. Granted it was an A/C'd room it stayed cold for over 5hrs.

New Joe rocket jacket has no neck protection. I was thinking about this the other day. My bald head is protected, but my pale neck is burning.

I ride back home at peak hours, and although it's not so bad, I can clearly see how much my neck is turning brown. Thought my jacket covers the neck, but it doesn't.

Thanks for the suggestions and the laughs.

All joking aside... a little sunblock does the body good. I actually wake up every morning of race weekend and put on SPF 70.

I actually use this to keep cool. I walk out of work at 5 and it's 102.1 yesterday. I put the scarf in a disposable paper cup filled with water for the walk to the bike. Wrap and tuck then ride.

Get the competition in black.

http://www.aerostich.com/aerostich-silk-scarves.html

A classic silk scarf should be soft, thin and slippery – so you can wrap one around your neck, close up your jacket and rotate your head and neck all day in draft-free comfort, without chafing. These luxurious 100% natural silk scarves are handmade of a soft, dense weave that’s perfect for riding. No synthetic fiber is warmer, softer, stronger, or more durable. Silk provides maximum comfort across every temperature range: warm and draft-blocking when cool, and refreshing when worn wetted in hotter conditions. The Competition Scarf is similar to the standard model but two layers thick, and a bit narrower and shorter. It measures 10"60" and is available in either white or black. Both are premium quality, long lasting silk that will keep the wind, rain, dust and snow from blowing down your neck, and will pack ultra-small in any pocket. This silk washes well. No other neckwear works this well, or looks this cool.

1568 1d

PS, get the regular one in white also (to tie your girl up with). Trust me
