Does anyone know first hand who it was who went down / exploded? The TD org has been known to downplay the severity of the condition of injured riders

Just back after two days.

I always said I'd wait till I experienced their org before jumping on the bandwagon trashing them for making "new org errors".

Check in was seamless. Tech was as thorough as "top notch" orgs and better than some average org tech checks.

Over two days, no major issues attributed to the org. The crash on Saturday was just a crash. We lost some down time due to transport, but not unlike any other org. From all I saw, red flags went out as expected, everyone behaved, and it was just like any other track day. One minor issue I had is that the leader of the rider's meeting did not cover exiting and entering the track. I brought this to his attention as it is a pet peeve of mine.

Sunday, delayed start due to rain the evening before. Rider's meeting covered entry and exit to track . Also covered telling all riders to not enter the track unless allowed by track marshall due to some going out in levels they weren't supposed to. I didn't see any issues either day.

Grids were good sized. A few riders were "waiting" for others by going slow off the line and looking back. This should have been done at hot pit, but no issues from it. It looks like it was addressed, because I only saw it one session.

One minor complaint is that "to the grid" announcements were off on timing. we'd get a five minute call, then it would be 8-10. Sounds minor, but when you gear up and pull your warmers off, it can be a little frustrating. I check that off to a learning curve they will eventually get corrected.

SCRC John provided outstanding support, good to see.

All in all, hard to beat for the price for track access.

A buddy of mine paid for Saturday and didn't show. He showed up Sunday ready to pay for Sunday. They checked him in and told him to have a good day. Evidently even without cancelling before, they allowed his Saturday payment to cover his Sunday. This is not standard at most places, and was very much appreciated by him.

Low and behold, the world didn't end and it seems all had a good time.

Good on you. If the rider doesn't want it posted, it's respectful not to. I wouldn't want my crash posted unless I requested it.

Nice to meet you today btw.

Man, its good to hear the rider is OK! I did not see the crash, it must have happened half a lap ahead of me. I saw the red flag at the carousel, seen a crashed bike, no flames or explosion. I respect a persons right to privacy but as a rider at TWS (Texas World Speedway) and a rider who had a 1.5 hour delay, I wouldn't mind some details on the crash. Maybe keep me out of trouble next time.

I was there on Saturday. It was announced at the rider's meeting that it was not a school, it's an open track day. Bear that in mind, and the rest takes care of itself.

I hear pepole harping on about issues.....there are different ones wherever you go. Apart from having only one ambulance on site which chopped the day short on Saturday, I witnessed no issues whatsoever.

I'll gladly go again.

I had a great time today. I did loose my front trail breaking into turn 7 (hit a bump) luckily saved it. First time at TWS (Texas World Speedway).
