Lol, I'm old too! Turning 40 in January. I have some race fuel that might help.

Those guys are on litres. You'll probably be downshifting even more. That's actually something I struggle with. There's at least 3 turns at TWS (Texas World Speedway) where I should probably be down another gear. Of course, I'm not geared properly for TWS (Texas World Speedway) so sometimes I get away with it.

OH yeah for the gearing i watched this one which helped, but i can tell by just looking my gopro footage where i can fix a lot of it up.

also does gearing for each track make that much of a difference? a Ride Smart instructor told me its only if youre in racing and trying to get like .10 of a seconds taken off

if you're -1/+2 you're probably good most places. I personally think it's worth more than a tenth, though.

Like I said, -1/+2 tends to be the "go to" everywhere. At shorter tracks like MSRH you can go -1/+3, and maybe deeper at GSS and/or Hallet. I'm currently geared -1/+3 and at my slow- pace I'm running out of tach on the start/finish straight at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Haven't bumped the limiter yet, but if my sack grows any I'm going to have to go to -1/+2.

Not much. A well tuned one will smooth power delivery a bit, though.

Probably not much...but I'd ask on the r6 forum. Just be weary of all the BS you'll hear from people trying to justify their spending.

For TWS (Texas World Speedway), I run -1, 0 on my 09 zx6. I tried going +1 in the back as well, but I was bouncing off the rev limiter shortly after the start/finish. That would kill me going into T1, which is a great passing area if you've got the speed. I switched back to stock in the rear and it was much better.

For MSRH, I run -1, +1. I can't fit a +2 with my chain length. I'd like to try it, but not sure how I'd like it. It's not just the straights you're concerned with. It can put you out of the power band and/or make you have odd shifts in different parts of the track.

Really? What are your laptimes?

Actually, what are teeth count on your sprocks? Taling in minus and pluses across bikes gets a little confusing.

Cody can move. I know he hit a 1:53 last time at TWS (Texas World Speedway).

Still. I know guys that are running 1:54s on gixxers running -1/+2 with tach left (barely) on the big end. So it just suprises me that with the same gearing at approximately the same pace he'd be hitting the limiter WAAYYYY back down the straight. I just want to make sure we're talking apples to apples.

Not enough to account for this disparity.

53.3 is my best. Stock is 16/43. I run out of engine right after I turn in for T1 with 15/43 (-1,0)
