Nice Bimmer......we've had 2 of them, a 528 and a 330. They are FUN cars......get ready when it comes time for an oil change though, somewhere around $100 at the dealer and you pretty much have to get it done there or at least buy the oil and filter from there as Bimmer has 15,000 mile oil change intervals.

That isn't going to be a fun job at all.......I used to race Eclipses and I know right where the a/c compressor is on that car. Good luck with that. I had a 92 GSX, quite a bit of mods, very quick for a 4 banger. Can't even begin to count how man Mustangs and Camaro's I smoked in that car....

All of the appropriate phone calls were made before the purchase. Just to make sure we would not be getting in over our heads with service and maintenance. So we should be ok…

It doesn't look too bad, I'm more worried about the expansion valve which is all up behind the glove box....sorry for the thread hijack:laughing6

Excellent. I would recommend however that you do buy the oil and filters from BMW and no where else. Reason being is those 15,000 mile service intervals. Not to mention I had heard/read about horror stories of people with Bimmers under warranty that had been doing their own oil changes with Mobil 1 and getting deinied warranty service on engine failures even though they had receipts because they weren't using BMW oil/filters.

Just my $.02 on that.

Brake jobs are fun on those too, you have to replace the pads, rotors, and wear indicator sensors. The brake system is designed so the pads and rotors wear out at basically the same rate or whatever. Again bad things happen if you try to put another set of pads on using the old rotors, When we bought our 528 used it needed brakes so I negotiated that into the deal. The dealer tried to cheap out and replace only the pads, but it didn't work out so well so they ended up doing all 4 wheels pads/rotors/sensors like they should have to start with.

I love BMW's, and we would still have our 330 to this day but my wife really wanted a truck....so she got a truck.
