I like most all of the orgs, but if you can, take your CMRA class with LSTD.

What he said. You can take it at either of the last two rounds at TWS (Texas World Speedway). It won't be that hot then. You take the class during the Friday practice in the street group. One at the first and last of October.

And it doesn't matter if you take the class in August, December, or whatever. You have 12 months to finish your prov nov requirements. So get the certificate whenever you want and start racing next year. I should only take 2-3 race weekends to complete the prov nov requirements.

The CMRA class is a safety class and not a riding class, for the most part. That being said, Steve with LSTD actually wrote the book, and I'd therefore take it with him if possible. LSTD also happens to do friday trackdays before CMRA races meaning that you can either race right away or knock out your cornerworking requirements.

I took mine with LSTD the Friday before the last TWS (Texas World Speedway) round last year. Took the class Friday, took Saturday to finish up everything on the bike (they are there to help if you have questions about safety wiring, etc), then raced Sunday!

The great thing about racing the last round, is that the membership is only $25, if I recall correctly.

Also, if you take it next year at the first round, you only pay for the class. Since CMRA runs the first round, the track day is included with the class. (As opposed to paying $75 for the class AND $150 for the track day). The first round has historically been MSRH. I haven't heard anything that might change that.

Good luck!

come to the next cmra round with us on the brawp bus. Split gas is the only requirement. I always have room for another bike and rider. You can do all the license stuff on my ninja 250 if you don't have a racebike yet. We plan to have 4 - 5 brawp 250 teams next year with a (relatively cheap) spot for all.

Our "team" ranges from teens to mid 50's, serious fast guys winning 250, 600, and 1000cc races...and slow guys who get lost at TWS (Texas World Speedway) on the banking. I kinda "run" stuff by default of driving the bus. We have a mission...have fun on and off the track and help others do the same.

He speaks the truth! Peter is always willing to help that is why he is PapaBRAWP. Also if you need directions around TWS (Texas World Speedway) before a race Peter is great at showing you around. I had to ask the cornerworkers
