Totally agree -
I just bought an acre in Belize with the same thing in mind. MUCH safer, democratic, and the main language is English and they use the dollar. And the roads are a hellofalot better. And you can also ride bigger bikes. I got a deepwater marinia right off the back of my lot and the new internaional airport is a mile away. I'm 100 yards rrom the longest stretch of white sand beach. And it's private to the land owners.

But rather than the beach, I pefer a ride throug the uneveloped land on roads that are almost new and have very little traffic. 75% of Belize is protected habitat that will never be allowed to be developed.

Forget running from drug pushers in Guatamala. I was shown the red flags on posts that mark the border with Guatamala. They said, "Dont even go NEAR those."
