How much is a 96 Shadow 600 worth?

My dad has a 96 shadow 600 that he offered to sell to me for $2,000 and I just want to make sure it's worth that. He wouldn't rip me off, but I'm not sure if he knows what they sell for either.

The bike is in good condition and I think it has around 5,000 miles on it. I know he put some exhaust on it, re-jetted the carbs and maybe a corbin seat. It's definitely slower than my R6 was, but I'll probably use it mostly for commuting from the Heights to Greenway.

What could I do to make it look a little cooler? I'd definitely pull the windscreen off and maybe get somem different bars for it.

Sweet, didn't know NADA had bike values.

It says that the high retail was $1,800 so I might not buy it.

Nada doesnt take in to account extras like new paint, windscreen, sissy bar, highway pegs and anything else this guy might have done, 2000 might be a fair offer, or he expects some punk to lowball him so he has room to negotiate down to 1800.

A '96 F3 is worth about $2200. I would think a Shadow would be less.

i think the same thing...it's only worth what you are willing to pay...and it's only a good deal when you get something for less than you are willing to pay, offer him something low and throw in a gift (my case was a 6 pack and a cycling jersey from my team) that shows the love between father and son, he'll break and it'll be yours....or at least that is how I bought my truck off my dad...

I'm going to try to make the deal my 1983 Mercedes 240D (which is getting a new slave & master cylinder put in for $400) and maybe a couple hundred bucks.
