"decent money" is a relative term

maybe look for a PT job at one of the local shops. You can also read up on various topics online. maybe get a beater bike and practice on those.

I'd stay away from UTI or whatever the moto verision is.

I wouldn't exactly call that an easy industry to break in to. You'd probably have to start out as porter and work your way up gradually.

No one will hire you to fix or build things without a proven track record of doing so, get your foot in the door as a parts runner or another non essential position. Work your way up, or go get the certifications for the job you're looking for.

The title of this thread includes the word "career." Devoting years to acheive something as well-respected as Master Tech is pretty much the definition of a career goal. If you just want a paycheque and to work around bikes, be a bartender at Outlaw Dave's.

Especially on MotoGP.

I wonder if any factory teams need a controls designer/tech.

What makes you think you should just get to step into an industry and immediately be making decent money? You have no experience, it seems, that is valuable but also dont seem to want to put in time to earn that higher pay.
Im not in the motorcycle industry, but I sure wouldnt hire you.
