Currently I shoot with a Canon 7D. Im looking to upgrade to either a 6D or 5DMkIII.

Honestly, the lens is more important than the camera it self. Having good glass is really what makes the colors come alive.

Yeah, I'm considering one of the Sony Alpha cameras. Either the 65 or 77 series. There is so much to learn about lenses it's ridiculous

I have always loved Canon. And Canon's L glass is quite literally incomparable.

I really don't do enough serious photography to warrant spending Canon money. LOL. The Sony line fits my needs on a more affordable range. Not much will compare to top shelf Canon though.

What kind of lens were you using? 300mm? Was the top pic just a crop of the full shot one below it?

Those are actually two different shots.

I shot those with a Canon 70-200mm L lens.

If you want a DSLR, go buy the Canon Rebel EOS T3i or T4i. They are not nearly as expensive as a full frame or the higher end crop sensors.

Well, I currently work a Frys so I get to play with all the DSLRs. LOL. This is kind of why I've narrowed down to the Sony. Some guy let me play with his 5D with an L lens at COTA, it was really nice but was about a $5k rig. LOL

remember that for doing the track stuff with a 6d or 5d, you'll effectively lose 60% of your focal length with the 70-200. the 70-200 on a 7d is more like a 112-320. you'd then need a 300 mm for the same reach, but then imagine a 300mm with 60% extra... it's a death spiral! LOL
