Help..Removing *Set Valve System*?

I have seen and also heard of people removing the set valve system on their bikes. Done a little research but wondering who has removed theirs and what is the benefit of it..

Im not familiar with what you're referring to but i pulled this post from a GSXR forum thread titles SET Valve removal:

Quote:
Why remove it? if you unhook it the spring it holds completely open and if you unhook the right wire the FI light is disabled. no real reason to remove it. I don't think it will make much of a difference with the stock exhaust and it may even run a little worse.

Sounds bad.

Just disconnect the cables and leave it in place. You're going to loose low end hp though.

Certainly not if I don't know the reason or what the outcome may be if I bothered to blindly with what seems to be a brand new bike. If you're riding that bike to its limits, then by all means, with it

If you're installing an Akrapovič they instruct you on exactly what to do

Hopefully it will come with detailed, specific instructions for your bike if you're doing it yourself
