hmmmmm .. well at least they are fixing it. I will be looking out for this. I dont depend on the ABS when breaking but will have that in the back of my mind.

Thanks for the heads up.

Problem with most of these recalls is not the system failing when you need it but moreso working when you don't need it

Right ... I know its there but I dont think oh I can just slam on my brakes. Prob got a red light ticket in Tomball the other day cause I was not gonna lock it up ... even though it wouldnt have due to ABS.

If I ever get a bike without ABS I will not have to worry about a braking learning curve all over again. I have played around with it .. it works for sure but still its not something I think about being there.

I heard that Kawasaki is the only one who is doing the recall as of now but this is supposed to effect a huge batch of NISSIN's abs that went to a few manufacturers.

BEVO has made many jokes about me crashing last December. If I had ABS, the crash would not have happened. Well, If I had slowed down for the stop sign..I would not need ABS...but anyway ABS would have prevented me from hitting the deck!

I don't know anyone with over 1 month's riding experience that intentionally grabs a handful of brake in a non-emergency stop regardless of whether or not they have ABS

That would be an endo, not a normal stop, pooper. I'd like to see one with ABS

If i had abs you better believe i'd "want" to rely on it. i would be totally aware of its intention and rely on it accordingly.

If I had a 300 i'd be first in line for this repair especially considering the post above about it affecting multiple manufacturers can you say swamped?

It was in the first week of having it ... but you right I found out if the ABS worked. Made sure I had a soft spot to land (road "T" grassy area in my buddies front yard).

Since I know it works I dont just run around braking hard is what I mean. I have practiced using both brakes and more so focused on the front brake with a little drag of the rear brake when I stop. I rode quads and never touched the front brake so its been a learning experience to leave the back brake be. Covering the clutch is normal but having to remap my brain to cover the front brake.

As far a relying on it ... that would be foolish If I ever buy a bike without ABS it would be a disaster waiting to happen. Aware its there for sure ... but I still everyday brake like it would lock it up if I grab to much.

If the recall addresses it NOT working then why would you assume it always will, instead of just having it looked at and repaired if needed; for free?

I am going to have it fixed .. why would I ride around with something broken on bike that can be fixed for free?
