Doh! So close! 14 more hours of work and she look like a bike. Starts but won't idle. Forgot my diag cable and couldn't do a TPS reset. Heading back tonight to do final clearance checks, some minor painting, TPS reset, and test ride. Then on to tail chop, changing rear tire, and detail cleaning.

Are you doing the powder coating yourself? Don't you need a big oven for that? Anyway it looks great.

Yup, but that was only the engine and small parts. Used a toaster oven for the small parts and then built a bigger oven for the engine cases and jugs.

30K. Put 20K on her in one year, got her at 10K. Main issue was tranny output bearings went out due to bad engine mounts due to last owner letting her sit outside in Texas heat for 3 years.

Look what followed me home! I'm keeping her Maaaw!

Last night hooked up the laptop, no trouble codes, reset the TPS and then adjusted TB valve. Started right up and idled perfectly. Geared up and did a short test run on 1960. Ran perfect, shifted through all gears fine. Speedo wasn't working but knew the sensor got chewed on by 5th gear when bearings went out. Had a spare at the shop from the Blast, fixed. Finished touch up painting. Found one wiring harness that is rubbing. Will secure that tomorrow and my baby is back.

Glad you're back on two. Bike looks really nice. Congrsts!

How much would you charge me to do a TPS reset on my bike? It doesn't like to idle when its cold.
I usually have to restart it 3 or 4 times before it will idle.

What year is it? They changed the ecu in 2007 i believe and my cable only works with pre 2007. Wouldn't charge a thing, just have to meet me over at Pete's one day. We can setup the laptop and do some quasi dyno tuning on the road and then tune the ECU for top performance.

Tail chop complete. Need to reinstall turn signals and license plate/light. HDR camera shot, hence the glow... oh wait, HDR was off...pure evil.

Its an 05 with a race ecu and ebr exhaust. It seems to run ok but starting it 3 or 4 times before it will idle gets on my nerves. I don't want to take from your thread. Ill send you a pm in a few.

Bike looks badass! Can't wait to see it in person.

Do you leave your mirrors straight up like that? Weird. I always had mine turned in so they were 1/2 over my hands.

Other than that... looking great!

Mantoe... you let the service engine light go off before starting it? That seems to make a large difference in my 09

Yes I always let everything cycle before I start it. I think a TPS reset will fix it.

Hopefully. ..

Yeah, well run through all the tests and do a TPS reset and that should clear it up. We'll Compare the race ECU fuel map with some other race ECU maps I have saved and make sure they are the same and that no one tried to modify the settings and leaned it out.

Actually no. They were normally turned in over the grips but I wanted to try something different. Gives you more up/down view but less side to side. Because I ride straight up in town and then on the tank on the highway I had to keep the left and right mirrors set at different angles when over the grips. I tried the straight up to see if it helped. Did some but not enough. I know it looks goofy but it was much easier checking my 6. They will probably go back to over the grips in a few days.

Mantoe, does your fuel pressure regulator make that horrible screeching/whisling noise when the fuel pump primes? Do you know if it is the stock fuel pressure regulator or the race version?

Mine started doing that a short time before the rear injector clogged...
