Nope. That is my buell XB12 engine. The tranny output shaft bearings went out which required splitting the cases and rebuilding the entire engine. Noticed some of the case powder coating was flaking off so stripped and powder coated everything but the heads since they are going to be replaced down the road. Did polish the ports mirror smooth though. All new gaskets, rear head gasket was on the way out and leaking.

Flat black. Ceramic coated the header a velvet flat black as well but had an issue with a stripped exhaust stud. About to head back to petes and replace the one stud (the only one which hasnt been replaced..).

Frame is staying the stock graphite grey but I did repaint the rear swing arm, the peg brackets (front and rear), and touched up a few spots on the frame. The pasta strainer is getting chopped and flat black PC'd, the fly screen brackets are getting flat blacked as well. Shifter assembly and rear brake levers PC'd flat black as well. Sub frame has some nicks in the PC so those will get stripped and polished/clear coated down the road.

well ur gonna have a pretty bike when its all said and done.

In fact, im way jealous. i myself want a (harley) buell of any style (xb9 the most) very badly and hope to follow suit in due time.

Did you keep the curvaceous exhaust headers or decide to go with something a little different? if you did keep them, did they get powder coated as well?

Skip the Xb9 and get the 12. Same headers just ceramic coated a velvet flat black. You can't powder coat headers without some special high temp powder and I don't have an oven big enough to cure them currently.

oh i see, ceramic coating i gotcha...yeah man my ninja 250 had (powder?) black header/muffler that stayed clean, never got dirty, and was TOO easy to wash, the sv650 has chrome header/muffler and i dont like it >_< (as much) but then again, i didnt like the dinky square headlight of the 2nd gen 250's and loved the big 8" round headlight of the SV, so you take and give

What got done today. 13 hours to put the header on. Had some dodgey exhaust studs. After all 5 methods failed, one was cut, then drilled out over 9 bits, including reverse. Cleaned original threads out with tap, leaving original threads intact. Freehand. Skills Baby. Other one required retapping stud threads on stud so it could be pulled and replaced. Fun Fun, Fun. Then 10 mins to put the header on. LOL.

What is left on the desk to put back one. Rear spring gets stripped and PC'd tomorrow.

She look, like a bike!

Still waiting on rear shock to be detailed, reassembled and installed. Reconnecting all wiring harnesses and throttle cables. Primary sprocket, clutch basket, and primary chain install. Then a test start.

She likes it when I tie her up..

All that powder coating, and the frame hides half of it.

Yup, but will stay cleaner and better in the long run. Also why no chrome bolts anywhere it's hidden.

Hopefully putting last parts and test start tomorrow. If she runs ok, throw on the exhaust and ride her home.
