AMA Motocross - DRAMA! - Penalties Announced on Washougal Laser Pointer Incident

There sure are a lot of fines tossed out there.

GoPro video from Villopoto’s helmet confirms that mere moments before the drop of the gate, as Villopoto drops his head to watch the drop of the gate, a green laser light flashes back and forth across his visor. Whereas initially the light was directed at his eyes, by dropping his head the light becomes visible on the helmet visor. Upon completion of the race, Villopoto reported the incident to his crew members, who in turn alerted officials about the incident.

As far as the laser pointing goes in the original post, that's up, cheap and a move. Motocross racing is one of the manliest sports ever known to man. Lots of respect in that sport, too. But if you've gotta point lasers at competitors to try and get an edge, that's a real move and you don't deserve to do that for a living. Man card taken away.. Motocross isn't for you.

No suprise that Jeff Alessi did that, though. I would have assumed that the Alessi brother's father, Tony, would have been the one behind it, though. That family always irked me especially when the brother first turned pro. Buncha whiney . Apparently, they are also shady cheats, too.

Here's a good link to more info on the story:

Yep, I know all about those guys. Their dad has always been that kind of guy, too. It's a shame, really.
