Did you check 77845 (TWS (Texas World Speedway) zip code)?
It's 30% chance of rain there.
Not by much, but better than 50%.

that does sound much better. I wonder if my rear tire will pass tech inspection. Center is almost to the wear bars, probably close to 1/8 inch before I'm down to the wear bars. Pilot Power if that matters

Don't try to squeeze through tech inspection. If they don't catch it, then you'll just end up with a busted tire later in the day. Get a new tire and you won't have to worry about it.

I really would like you to get a new rear tire.
Not just for the inspection, in case if it rains, it's gonna be VERY slippery.
Not safe.
If you can't get the tire on time, Dave the Michelin man will be at the track.

I don't really know...
You have to take off your own wheel.
Dave won't take the wheel off and put it back for you.
You have to do it yourself.

There's plenty of rubber on the sides; just the center of the tire that is worn. If i get a new tire tomorrow i may not have time to scuff it up. Worse is if I end up getting a tire Saturday then it rains... Damnit! why do i procrastinate?! If I can get outta work around noon tomorrow I should be able to get a tire mounted then come home, install and go go for a little ride to scuff the tire. I'm behind in my studies too so that doesn't help any. Procrastination is a horrible habit.

one lap on the track is enough to scuff it up???????

edit, not actually a question more like a remark that it takes only like one or two laps to scuff up the tires.

You don't need to worry about scuffing your tire.
There'll be round robbin for the first session and the morning sessions are more controlled and easier going.
You'll have plenty of time to get your tire ready.
All it takes is good few laps and you are good to go.

How hard/steady of a rain does it take to close the track?
