Deer .. Its July

I was riding home last night around 130 am from a friends house in Tomball. Right before I left as always gave me his speech about how he doesnt ride at night and to be careful. I was like "yeah but less people on the road so it really doesnt bother me..just gotta watch for critters on Boudreaux then I am pretty much good to go".

Well I will be damned if I didnt get about 5 min away and what do ya know a nice little doe standing in the ditch. Scared the out of me. Its July damnit and not even a full moon what the was that deer doing up so late. Probably looking for a stranded motorist to rob in the middle of the night.

No real story just my I almost my pants moment. I think I was like a robot scanning the road until I hit 2920. Watch out for critters at night.

Saw a nice looking buck running across Kuykendahl-Huffsmith this morning, I think the train spooked it.

Single deer scared you? We got 2-3 herds out here. Out in the road all the time. Running across the road is fine, it's when they race down the road with you that you have to worry. If a deer runs in front of you, just aim for the deer. They will move.

A few years ago a young christian guy contacted me to ride.
He worked off huffsmith khorville at a body shop.
We hit the stunt spot. Went to the forest.
One day he suddenly wasnt answering calls or texts.
He hit a deer on huffsmith khorville one morning and was killed.
I avoid riding at night especially in rural areas

yeah cause it was close to the road so it had time to jump ... really got me cause it was one of those things where ya just talked about it and it happened ... usually not a good sign.

Just aim at the deer ... only if I got a gun.

No, seriously. Doesn't matter which side you choose, they will either just run off or take 2 steps, panic, turn around and jump right in front of you. If you aim right for them they will move (usually) and your path will be clear. I encounter deer on the bike everyday, sometimes 2-4 times a day. It took me a while to learn that and had several late night near death heavy pants experiences. You think seeing a deer is bad, it's twice as oh when you think you are good and then they turn back right in front of you.

Herds are the worse cause wither they all run the same direction or panic and go every direction. Sometimes, like I said, the same direction is running down the road with you and then splinter off in every direction. Usually in front of you. That's an oh moment.

My nood has a good 3 miles of blind twisties through hills and gulleys. It's my own little track and I dont do less than 70. Neighbors hate me, except for the cop with the busa..

Remember those emergency swerves I was telling you to practice... Practice 2 back to back. You usually clear the object with the first but countering the oversteering is the job of the second...

I just looked at where you live .. yeah in the sticks. When I first met my wife years ago ... I had dropped her off at like 3am in a neighborhood mind ya in off Louetta in Klein. There was like 10 of them bastards I ran up on and yeah they started darting this way and that then one little decided to cut back in front of me in my truck. I got out and I thought he was dead ... well nope he jumped up and ran off into the woods across the street.

It was a good thing.. I was gonna throw him in the back of truck .. luckily I didnt cause I got pulled over about 10 min later for the busted light he caused.

Same thing happened to me one very early (dark) morning. I had the same reaction. Haha. Where I live they are clearing hundreds of acres of forest, so they are coming a lot more often now. I had three run through my yard a couple of months ago. Then there was that cow who came in my yard... haha
