I dunno what crackhead magazine you've been reading, but it's quite a bit more than 98hp. It's 6lbs. heavier than the 636, but turns MUCH better. Replace the exhaust system and and it'll all be equal again. Laugh at the new 6R all you want, but it will kick the out of our 636's on the track.

Heres my dyno run. Thats with a PCIII, BMC Filter, jumper mod, and Leo Vince slipon and mid pipe. I rode the new zx6 at laguna and wrote a quick review over in the racers lounge. Better tranny than the last gen but still down on power. Real world conditions its not that big of a difference.

you need to run a 07 6r in the exact same conditions to make that comparison. In the article they state all the bikes read low, the highest being 103. I own a 07 now from my 04 6rr and have had the chance to ride many 636's 03-06... and i will say the thing is well ahead and could do some serious damage on the track in stock form. I dont think it is down on power and I would be curious to see your 636 vs. my 07 to see the difference in top end.

You are entitled to your opinion. I'm in no way trying to convince you that the 05-06's are better. I have ridden both on the track and they weren't that much different. But I could definately feel a difference in accelerating out of the turns, especially the lower speed ones.

My 01 R6 feels better to me than my 636 or the new 6R, but the I have an aftermarket suspension and eveything not needed for street has been removed. That makes a huge weight difference. Get any any of the new 600's out on the track with the DOT race tires and a competent rider and their laptimes will be very similar.

you must be talking about straight line speed which matters about as much these magazine numbers you keep raving about.
