Thanks for all the pics of my teammates (#47 KX60)!

Nice to meet you all out there, and great job on your first TMGP weekend. We (Just Plain Slow) ended up 7th in Superbike Expert, having 2 or 3 small mechanical issues (rear sprocket bolts backing out, a debris fouled spark plug, front brake pad failure). Racing for 3.5 hours with no front brake was fun, to say the least! Thankfully the rest of the bike performed flawlessly and we were running to the end.

For those who missed it, we had about 15 minutes of light rain halfway thru the race and probably half the field went down in the first 3 laps. I was LMAO at our newbie rider (Eric from Adventure Yamaha) racing with no front brake, 1 hour of track time, and lapping !!!everyone!!! twice in the rain, only falling once. Crazy man!

What was really cool was seeing how the sport is taking off, at least in terms of choice of weapons at the track. There were NO supersport YSR teams, you know, the bikes that the series was formed to be able to race. Instead, all manner of motards, YSR's with liquid cooled 65's, NSR50's, NSR63's, NSR100's (Sweet styling, but very down on power), trick BBR XR100's, KLX110's that can pull my 60, TTR125's, YXR's, APrilias, a NSR80...the list goes on. Pretty cool stuff. And the skill level is also creeping up. CMRA has nothing on TMGP, well, maybe they have a little!

Katy is April 28th. Come on out MH. Admission is only $10 for the whole weekend.

Awesome pics, shoulda used some high speed film, maybe you coulda caught one or two of me(pfft, yeah right).

Shadman,
It was great meeting you and some of the other cats out there. Everyone was very cool and willing to school us n00bs on what to do.
I agree with you on the nsf, it was slower than I expected, though I have a feeling it might be the gearing considering that rear cog was the size of a girl scout cookie. I'm gonna play with it some and see what happens.
Once again, great pics James!

no prob. on the pics, the racing was fun but, getting to meet everyone and to hang out with those you know, getting to know them better is what makes the weekend the best. unless you get a trophy. i wouldn't know.

I need to improve my riding skills and sign up next year.

I'll definitely try to make it out in April to watch.

Awesome!!!! I wish I could have been there this weekend. I had one of my bikes race-ready a month ago (a record for me), and the other I am working on for the first Katy round.
Looks like the competition is getting tougher this year. I see lots of KX's in those photos.

Peter, glad you guys are racing the KX in Superbike this year. I realy wish I could do endurance this year, because it looks like I'm not going to do very well in the sprints with all these fast bikes out there.
Let me know if you need a spare rider sometime this year.

yes, the competition is pretty tough this year, esp. for the SB class. our little 60 just isn't fast enough, i think we need some serious gearing..
