Question Break in Service, what is it???

Okay i'm a N00b, I know...i know...but well i need a lil info here,

It hAs been 2.5 weeks since i bought my bike and i ve already kicked about 600 "582miles" miles "No accident (except for those i ve avoided) No Slip, no Nothing, I ride jus' fine" on my bike. An as you all know its time for Break in 1st service,...

Its Kinda weird since the sales person ddnt really explain what is the BREAK IN SERVICE, so well i thought i should ask ya'll and if you will please let me know what does break in service do?...

If i take my bike back to the dealership, what are they going to do?...tune up? or......plz inform!....Can I take it to any other Dealership or Motorcycle People to work on it, since my dealership is all the way in KATY and i live around the Sugaland area!....

And Oh, when I start my bike sometimes i hear clicking noise like TAPETS - On a car but after period of riding it dis-appear...anyone ve any idea of what this might be?...I was told not to rev pass 6Krpm but i ve done couple of times...may be to about 10krpm [on freeway], i ve never redline it!...or shift light on!...

Last QN; How Much Does Maintenance COST!? break in service...Or you ve never heard of it?

Mainly just the oil change & filter.
They may adjust the chain and any cables, as needed.

its the good ol 200 dollar oil change. They're supposed to recheck everything they assembled when they took the bike outta the crate, making sure everything its torqued to specs. Get a service manual and go over yourself. My front caliper and 1 motor mount bolt was loose when I checked mine.

i just usually change the oil and pull out the tool kit that came with the bike and go over everything including the chain at 500 miles. also, dont redline and dont baby the bike too much. ride it like you want to ride it eventually. just my .02

motorcycles unlimited also has noob days where patrick walks over the regular maintenace of most bikes
