Griff's crash at MSRH

Here's Griff's fall down, even in slow-mo I can't tell what happened. Glad I wasn't following him too close!

Seems like an odd place for the rear to release...what caused it?

looks like he went a little too wide in the turn (not keeping it between the seam and curbing) but instead of letting it go onto the concrete and then trying to correct the line, he ended up staying on that seam which is why his rear tire let go ?

Thank you for posting the vid.

I want to first thank everyone who helped me on and off the track. Can't say enough about all those who went out of their way and got me loaded up.

I have not gone down. On the track in 4 years so if this is my crash I am happy! We all know its going to happen somtime.

Crash details are this.

It was my first time out on the new tune (same tune Cody got) and I was not use to it. I blamed that at first til I went out to the crash scene and saw what I hit in the Keyhole. There is a huge uneven place with soft tar right next to a hole with grass growing up threw it. (In the middle of the track) I understand I was not on the race line...but what does that matter? I was on my line on the track. What if I was on the race line and I got passed there by a faster rider? Same out come for him. Guess we need to mow the track before we ride it. Lol!

Urgent care saw me today. Left foot is broke and I have 2 fractured ribs with rash on my leg and shoulder. The fall does not look that bad at all from the video stand point. But I am a lil over 6ft 260lbs. So when I fall like that its a hard hit.

Bike will be a easy fix. So again, I am happy.

It is at the end of the concrete patch where it rises up to meet the asphalt. There is a hole and soft seal patch there. (and grass)

Wish I was going a little faster tho. Mybe I would have slid better than tumbled.

Thanks for all the posts and texts of heal up wishes! Means alot to me. I am very impressed with a lot of people's support. Top notch folks here and at the track!!!

Yes! I am lucky and blessed it was my boy Alonzo!!! If it had not been for his skill and ability (especially in that part of the track) I could have been hurt much much worse. Anyother rider would have hit me for sure. Again I must say his skill and accomplishments is the reason I am typing this write up today.

I was able to jump up in the session pick my bike up and roll it off the track(with cracked ribs and a broken foot)....noway I could pick up a 10lbs today. Sooo sore.

Thanks again guys for the get wells over here! I love MH and how it supports fellow riders!!

Spoke to him last night, says he felt the wind blast from you on his leg and actually though he done popped you! it was that close. Video just doesn't show it well at all.
