He's gone to nearly most of our northside meets for the last several years.

I don't think I've ever seen him without a helmet nor a jacket(usually not leather) for that matter. But I don't know the situation.

10pm is a little early to be plastered; and he usually drinks in Humble when he does; but again I wasn't there.

What I can comment on, is it is very unfortunate and I wish his employee that stood by his side growing his business the best. He had a lot of life in him and I for one will miss the guy that always encouraged me to laugh when I didn't feel it inside.

Last I know, the curb he hit was the extension they put out that blends in with the onramp and we have lost several BMWs totaled out to customers driving over it hitting the onramp and southbound right after cypresswood. there are not reflective markers or anything. First I saw it, and I drive that turn 3-4 times a day, I fixated on it and couldn't figure out what it was. I bet at night, with low visibility, merging with traffic from three lanes into one, and on a bike, it comes up quickly if you don't expect that 15-20foot extension not to be there(and hasn't since Ive lived in TX)

Best wishes to the family, thank goodness didn't have kids.
and there you have a good reason... explination, thanks Cali.

Might be a good arguement for the fam to go after the state,

The news tells you what the current status is on the wreck no firther updates made. For all we know he was wearing a helmet and possibly not strapped came off. I have myself almost hit this curb both day and night on my bike amd In my car. Its stupid that they put it there.
RIP buddy
You were a very fun outgoing guy.

Sad to because there are almost always more entrances farther down the feeder. What's the hurry?

there's also construction going on immediately to the right of the new extension. During the day the right lane is closed. Not sure about night. There is alot going on there. if you come from cypresswood there isn't very much time to merge away from construction cones and over a couple more lanes before the next extension curb they put in. That's why so many use to merge at that spot.

and yet you title the thread, "another one bites the dust", without any details and a shitload of presumptions with even fewer details. I get tired of seeing the threads too, but c'mon man....someone just lost a life and left people behind. I sure hope when my day comes (if it happens to be on the bike) that some asswipe I don't know doesn't start some crappy thread based on their assumptions.

Sorry to hear about your friend Matt. May he RIP.

I seen that new island extension for the on ramp, it's around the corner from work on in the path of our test drive route.

The extension is insanely long for it's purpose.

Yeah most of the barriers have went up in the past week at night at least up past 2920 .. didnt know they were doing anything south of 2920. The stuff up north is for Grand Parkway . Lots of these half barriers going up so be careful around 45 N/S from Rayford Sawdust down to 1960 main lanes and feeder roads. Would image lots of road gators are going to be in the main lanes since they are taking the shoulders away on the right side.

I hope the family sues. Like stated before the new extention is not marked and the first 30ft or so blends in with the paved road. Very sad and could have been totaly avoided if the curb had been properly marked with some type of reflective paint or actual reflectors. And to say this guy was a squid with out knowing the facts is stupid. No the facts before you open your mouth. RIP

The one I am aware of is South bound after the Cypresswood intersection.

Right by the Best Buy.

the white striped triangle area is pretty much a curb/island now.

Idk why but its something we've all done I'm sure , I used to always dart across lanes and ride wrecklesly when I first got ahold of a bike. But now I ride safer and more responsible seeing as how I lived through the riding like a dumbass stage. And honestly it feels much better riding geared up and I also get to enjoy the bikes for what they were meant for.
