Shark Skinz SBK Tail - Daytona 675

I just received my Shark Skinz SBK race tail fairing today for my Daytona 675 and attempted to test fit it on my bike.

I have a question for those who have this tail. Does the tail fit over the subframe of the bike or does it sit above it?

I think I am having some fitment issues, but want feedback from someone with the same fairing. I can only get the right side mounting point to line up. The left side won't line up because the subframe is preventing it from mounting "flush". If I lift the tail off the subframe completely, then neither mounting points line up and the bolts will not reach, naturally.

Pictures:

Left side does not line up with the bolt hole and the bolt will not reach at that height

Here is the right side

Does not sit evenly

If I try to even it up, there's a very large gap between the seat and the tank plus both mounting holes do not line up in this scenario.

I used threaded spacers for the rear

Any ideas?

Did some Googling regarding your issue:

Seems like there may have been a faulty batch, and you may have received one of them. Why not contact Sharkskinz directly and tell them about the issue instead of contacting the middle man?\

Edit: n/m, you did. Someone on that forum I linked was able toget another one from SS sent to them for free. Try again and maybe you'll have better luck with a different person.

Thanks for the heads up man. I'll give it another shot, but they seemed to be pretty reluctant to do anything for me. They insisted I return or modify...that's what frustrates me so much.

**EDIT** Looks like that post was back in 2007. I highly doubt things are the same now. Times are tough...
