Cool Do you guys realize how big our *Houston Central Meets* have gotten?

It has been just about two years since the first venture into the Central Meet revival at James Coney Island. That first meet brought easily about 200 bikes. It brought out a lot of members that hardly ever come out too. Maxgs, bluewave and few others. Maybe it was the nostalgia of the huge meet that happened there back in the 90s or before I even rode a bike.

But I digress...

We had our meet there and slowly like anything else it was a big boom then slowly fizzled out...don't know what happened but it just did.

Then we thought maybe a location closer to a freeway and big parking would work and we headed out to FreeBirds. That meet was a great success and we even began to have fun with it and do slow races and give away prizes. That remained successful and more people joined in on the fun. But eventually the location was not enough to accommodate us and we decided to try the refinery...

That happened to be the last meet of last year and it was huge! Everyone loved it but they just never seemed to be quite ready for us. No matter how much I warned them.

So we finally found a place that is welcoming to bikes and our group, and our first meet was huge! So much that they ran out of burgers to serve us.

We have come a long way, now we are looking to have a consistent radio spot, not just for the meet, but also for the sponsors that donate goodies. The meet keeps growing and its all due to you guys supporting and being enthusiastic about it.

I know I really look forward to the first Wednesday of the month!

I didn't think we would get this big to possibly have local paper and maybe a magazine come out to a meet and cover it.

Thanks to Blanco for finding the place.
Thanks to Ana & Gavin for always showing support.
Thanks to all our sponsors
And thanks to all of you that come out.

If you have not made it to one, I would like to invite you to make it out and at least have one beer or water with us. All bikes and all riders are welcomed. All the Internet bullshit gets put aside and everyone just wants to have a good time.

So come on out.

Link to last meet:

Go through my last threads to see the other meets I mentioned. I ain't got time for that.

That first JCI meet was pretty badass. SBFuller took some badass shots of all the bikes.

Someone who has time should fish it out and post the link.

It would be good to have some other old guys there. I went to this meet and only saw 2 guys near my ancient age.
