frag....if someone was going to give me a few new one, I'd go sub-1k... be tempted to try to fz8 or go back to my fz6... better mpg and still more than enough for any street riding.

Word.

I've pretty much decided that as long as there aren't any major issues that the seller left out I'll be riding it home today. Meeting the guy around 11 this morning so I'll post a pic if I walk away with it. Given the price and all the info the seller has given me so far this just seems like one of those deals you don't pass up...I could easily flip it for another $2k if I wanted. I kinda love it when people are financially irresponsible and forget to prioritize stuff like rent...sure makes for some great buys on my part.

My 675 pulls so much harder than my SV. I doubt you will be disappointed in the power. Also, unless you've modified your SV, the suspension and brakes will be light years better on the 600RR.

IMH smaller bikes are nimble and very fun for the active rider. Liter bikes are kings of straight line riding. Cruising the freeways liter bike > 600r. Carving canyons & track days 600r > liter bikes. I am barely an intermediate rider but little 600 was fun and still scary fast @ the right rpm.

Was making the point that modern liter bikes turn well. Anyone that thinks just because they're on a 600 they will automatically out turn anyone on a liter bike might be in for a surprise.

600 will prolly do. i ride a '12 zx6r and never had an issue with the power, that thing can still pull some power not much as the 1000 though. and plus its how you enjoy the ride no matter if it is 600 OR 1000.

Trying to open it up, I realised a huge issue with the Gen4... the ECU. If I ever had to go WFO to get past someone (or just for the of it), my power got cut and I lost most of my torque. I had to bypass the ECU, install a PC-V and get it mapped correctly for my pipes and mods to get it to have smooth, even acceleration from beginning to end.

They're very different machines. I will say that the technology on the ZX10R makes handling it very easy, not quite "like a 600" since the motor is that much bigger, but easy nontheless.
Man, get in touch with me.
No huge issue with the ECU.....just a little wire snip and you have all of your HP. Also, if you are thinking about a PCV...I have a map that will make you chit run!

No problem with the ECU...it sounds like you were running with traction control turned on. That WOT sudden loss of power is TC kicking in to keep the front end from going airborne! Put your bike on Full Power and turn KTRIC off and report back!

Oh yeah, I met up with Gary and he hooked me up with the wire snip and his map since our mods were 99% identical. I've since laid off the KTRC and fly my baby where ever I go. We've got a short thread on MH where I was typing with sticky fingers after my first unrestricted ride
