Moto's vs LEO's

In the interest of promoting peace and tranquility between the moto community and local revenuers... I mean Law Enforcement Officers or sans that, at least a better understanding of the relationship betwixt the two, I offer the following for you general commentary.

Its a mid summer morning and kids are out of school except for those select few locations where summer school is being taught. Being summer and the City of Houston wishing to make... I mean save money, the school zone lights at these particular few location do not flash during the appropriate hours despite the fact that children are indeed likely to be, but on this occasion not observed to be, walking in or near the school zones. Undaunted our tireless oppress... I mean public servants seeking to generate revenue... I mean increase the public safety set up on the far side of the school zone with radars in hand with their backs to the sun so that they can not be seen in the morning sunrise as they step into traffic in the 30mph zone after the school zone to pull over unsuspecting drivers who are some how supposed to know that the school zone is still enforce at this particular school from 7am-8:30am and 11am -1pm. You would think for the safety of the children(none present at the time) and drivers that they would set up in the school zone with lights on so that drivers would slow and take appropriate action but no, they take up a hidden position behind a hedge past it so that they pop can drivers who have already passed through it. As stated before, the situation made worse by the fact that the sun was rising behind them rendering them nearly invisible as they stepped into traffic to pull people over. How many people. I counted 8 cars and one two wheeled brother while waiting at the light passing from the other direction. I did get a ticket but I was angry enough for everyone who did.

You see ladies and gents of the jury things like this is why bikers tend to have less than amatory feelings toward Cops. I understand why we get ticked at them but why they tend to have an attitude towards us is beyond me. We are some of the nicest people I know. I'm happy to hear from the defense but this is a cut and dry case based on the facts. The badges say Protect and Serve but the actions are more often than not harass and fleece. Ladies and Gentlemen of the jury what say ye?

Does the sign say that speed limit XX when flashing? Or just school zone?

I haven't met one cop with a bad attitude about bikers, in fact I got let off with a warning with a 12-over ticket looming and a mile of I didn't stop b/c I didn't hear the siren behind me - and I forgot to inform him of my licensed concealed pistol until I pulled my wallet out!

In fact all my tickets have been in a cage and I'm certainly tamer in the SUV.

Just sayin'

I'm pretty sure you could win in court if you were pulled over without knowing you were speeding in an unposted area.

It off the people behind me, but this is why i always follow school zone speed limits unless it's after 9pm, regardless of the day, or the season!

I was commenting more on the fact that A: the Cops claim what they were doing was in the name of safety yet they did it in the most unsafe way possible. Did they really need 6 officers to write tickets all morning when they could have posted one in the school zone and driver would known it was in affect. No whines or whinnies just trying to understand their logic.

So you know the kids are in school and signs are posted, but not flashing. You get mad because you got caught speeding in a school zone, and then want to blame cops for not having a car out there to warn you not to speed through the school zone you know about.

I don't like cops and I keep away from them for the most part. They can ruin your day really quick. I don't disrespect them (or respect them). I just stay out of their way.
